Wrecking Crew (レッキングクルー, Rekkingu Kurū) is an early game released for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1985, in which the player takes control of Mario as a demolition worker.
Gameplay[]
The player controls Mario and must destroy objects including ladders, columns, bombs and blocks using Mario's hammer. However, Mario must dodge several enemies as well, and cannot jump on them like in other games. A second player could play as Luigi, who is, oddly, dressed in purple. The Japanese version of the game allowed players to save their level designs using a cassette player. Since the peripheral was not released in the US, saving was impossible. However, the option was kept in the game, hinting that a similar peripheral would be released in the US, but it was never released. The Virtual Console version, released in Europe and Australia on August 24, 2007, and North America on November 19, featured saving support for level designs.
