World 5-3 is the third level of World 5 as well as the twenty-fifth overall level in Super Mario 3D Land.
Layout[]
World 5-3 takes place in the clouds and sports several moving platforms and spiked bars. Flophoppers are found throughout the level as well. After a few paths of moving platforms, Mario crosses a chasm with two parallel platforms, dodging Paragoombas and Venus Fire Traps. Afterward, Mario finds the level's Checkpoint. Past this checkpoint are pendulums that carry Mario to the last leg of the level. This last part is similar to the previous part with moving platforms, only the two platforms begin to move up and down. Clever movement can allow Mario the final Star Medal in this part. At the end of this path is the Flagpole of the level.
Star Medals[]
- Star Medal 1: The first Star Medal doesn't appear until Mario reaches the Checkpoint. It is found on a block at the first pendulum.
- Star Medal 2: The second Star Medal is found in Coin Heaven, a location accessed by a nearby Rainbow Note Block past the pendulums.
- Star Medal 3: The final Star Medal can be obtained by jumping from the left moving platform near the end of the level. After the jump, Mario must hastily run up the falling stairs to re-reach the aforementioned platform to safety.
