World 1-1 is the very first level in Super Mario Bros. 3 and its remakes Super Mario All-Stars and Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3. It has World 1-2 come after it.
Overview
This level is a nature-themed area, thus it is plain with green hills that can be seen in the background. This level also contains giant block platforms that can be hopped onto to reach higher areas. Overall, the Tanooki powerup is introduced in this area, allowing Mario to reach higher areas with this powerup. Goombas, Koopa Troopas, Venus Fire Traps, Paragoombas, Piranha Plants and Paratroopas, however, get in Mario or Luigi's way on this level.
Secrets
Bonus Room
After Mario or Luigi encounters the first trio of Goombas, he must gain enough momentum to fly up in to the air until reaching a cloud platform with a 1-up Mushroom on it. Once this area is reached, Mario or Luigi must then flap some more until reaching a Warp Pipe high in the sky. They must go in here to find a hidden room with a coins shaped like the number 3, likely to reference Super Mario Bros. 3.
