World 1-1 is the first level of World 1 and the very first level of Super Mario Bros., its remake Super Mario Bros. Deluxe and Super Mario All-Stars. Enemies in this level consist of Goombas and Koopa Troopas.

World 1-1 takes place above ground. At the beginning of the level, there is a fort in the background. There are many Brick Blocks and several Item Blocks. There are sixteen Goombas and one Koopa Troopa.[1] There are several pipes, one of which is a Warp Pipe that leads to an underground room, while all the others do nothing. It contains several coins and another pipe leading to back up to the surface to the end of the level. Near the end of the level is a staircase made of Blocks next to a Flagpole and another fort.

You begin along a brick path, and will encounter a Goomba and your first ? Block, then you'll find six more ? Blocks. A Super Mushroom is found inside the left block. Up next are a set of pipes that has Goombas walking in between them. The final pipe can be entered; this will lead you to an underground bonus area where several coins can be collected.

Up ahead, you'll find a hidden 1-Up Mushroom block (if you don't take the secret route), and further ahead, another ? Block that could contain a Fire Flower or Super Mushroom, depending on your health. Also, Goombas walking along a platform of bricks at the top will start falling down. Down below is a Ten-Coin Block. Following that are are two Brick Blocks, the second one holding a Super Star. Up next is a triangular formation of ? Blocks. The top one holds another power-up item. Then, a Koopa Troopa will appear, followed by more Goombas. More Brick Blocks and ? Blocks appear and after that is a small set of pyramid-shaped hard blocks that has a gap in the center. Then, up ahead is another set, but features a pit in the center. Just further up is another pipe and two Goombas marching towards you. There are also four consecutive blocks; three of them are brick, and one holds a coin. At this point, you'll be nearing the end of this course. Just up ahead is another pipe, followed by the large staircase that you must climb. You'll then find the Goal Pole, which you must grab onto to finish this level and advance to the next.
