The Virtual Boy was a failed Nintendo console that was supposed to keep fans occupied during the long wait for the Nintendo 64. Its twin eyeglass-style projector displays monochromatic images in red and black once labelled by Nintendo as "true 3D." It failed for multiple reasons: its lack of portability, despite being a handheld, and gameplay could cause a headache in a matter of minutes. It was released in Japan on July 21, 1995 and in North America on August 14, 1995. It was never released in other regions, due to its failure in Japan and North America. It has 32-bit graphics and uses 6 AA batteries.
