Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time
In Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, when a Tanoomba appears outside of battle, it appears as a Toad, a coin, or an Item Block, but the face, the tail of the raccoon and green leaf give a Tanoomba's disguise away. In battle, it can transform into a spiky Koopa Shell, where Mario and Luigi have to jump. It can also turn into a balloon with a tail, which floats, and needs to be hit with a hammer, and a Thwomp which comes down very rapidly, and needs to be hit with a hammer. The Tanoomba's attack pattern is as such: When it just jumps, it attacks Mario, when it jumps and spins (doing a backflip), it attacks Luigi.
- The Tanoomba's abilities is similar to the Duplighosts from Paper Mario as they are both enemies that are able to transform into other things. However, Tanoomba's are only shown transforming into other enemies and objects while Duplighosts are able to transform into other characters.
