Super Mario Galaxy 2 is a recently announced game for the Nintendo Wii. It is the direct sequel to Super Mario Galaxy. The game now has new levels, galaxies and characters such as a wooden toad-like character and Yoshi. It is unknown whether Super Mario Galaxy 2 will be the final title.
Currently, not much is known about the game, however, the biggest inclusion to the game is Yoshi, who is seen gaining new powers by eating special fruit such as speed boosts and inflating. Items such as a drill head, a switch that slows/stops time, a rotating item block (With a red and black mushroom seen on it), winged ? blocks and more have been seen in the trailer; Miyamoto stated that most of what didn't make it into Super Mario Galaxy would appear in Super Mario Galaxy 2.
The bee suit along with star bits and other staples of Super Mario Galaxy are set to appear in the game. Miyamoto also noted that the game would have less of a plot. It is unknown who will assume the role of villain in this game, however a ice bowser statue and airships coming from warps can be seen, hinting that bowser will be seen in one shape or form. There are two confirmed bosses: A smaller version of Megaleg and a large Major Burrows.
