Mario Party

Strawberry Shortfuse is a minigame which first appears in Mario Party 6 and returns in Mario Party: The Top 100. In the former game it is a Battle minigame whereas the latter features it as a Free-for-All minigame.

Gameplay[]

When the characters enter a kitchen, where the minigame takes place, ten Ukikis hide the contents of their trays, five of which contain a bomb and five of which contain a cake. After the Ukikis run around the room, the characters each line up and select a Ukiki, one after the other. If the Ukiki is holding a cake, the character moves to the back of the line, but if the Ukiki is holding a bomb, it explodes on the character, eliminating them from the minigame. Whoever is the last character remaining is ranked the winner.

In the instance that the characters select all five cakes and there is still more than one character playing, the Ukikis refill their trays, restarting the cycle of the minigame. If the minigame happens to reach the end of its third cycle and more than one character still remains, the minigame ends, and each of the remaining characters are ranked as winners.

Ending[]

In Mario Party 6, the winning characters do their victory animation as the remaining Ukikis cheer, each exposing the content of their trays. This ending does not return in Mario Party: The Top 100 due to the lack of minigame endings in general.
