A Spiky Gloomba is a Gloomba that has a small hat with a spike on top of its head. It is essentially a "Dark Spiky Goomba." It is stronger than both the Gloomba and the Spiky Goomba. They wear their spiked helmets to avoid being jumped on by Mario, however if Mario is equipped with the Spike Shield badge or has a similar affect, Mario can jump on Spiky Gloombas with no trouble.

Paper Mario

In Paper Mario, the Spiky Gloombas made their debut. They are found in the Toad Town Tunnels. The enemies can be found throughout the upper portions of the sewers primarily and may tag along with other enemies on the lower levels.

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door

In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Spiky Gloombas appear in the Pit of 100 Trials. They first appear in the second area of the pit, levels eleven through twenty, and afterward, may tag along with other enemies on the next ten levels.

Super Paper Mario

In Super Paper Mario, Spiky Gloombas, like in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, appear within the Pit of 100 Trials.
