Not to be confused with Mr. Blizzard.

Snowmen are a recurring species of animate objects in the Mario franchise and related media. The most notable Snowman are Mr. Blizzards. The first instance of a Snowman appearing is in Super Mario 64. A Snowman usually wears an orange scarf around its body segments and a small, dark blue bucket on its head.

In Mario Kart series[]

Throughout the series, Snowmen appear as obstacles in various courses set within a snowy environment. Whenever a racer drives into a Snowman, they get knocked over and drop their items. A Snowman dissipates if it either driven into or has an item thrown at it, but in either case, the Snowman but returns from the ground after a few seconds.

Mario Kart 64[]

Snowmen make their series debut. Snowmen are found in Frappe Snowland, where they are gathered all around the giant ice sculpture of Mario. If a racer drives into a Snowman, they are sent flying up into the air.

Mario Kart DS[]

Snowmen appear in DK Pass and make a reappearance in N64 Frappe Snowland. In DK Pass, many Snowmen are found near the track's end around the last corner, although a few are placed on the road along the way.

If a racer drives into a Snowman, their kart tumbles over instead of launching into the air like in Mario Kart 64.

Snowmen are featured in Mission 5-2, in which Donkey Kong has to drive backward in N64 Frappe Snowland and collect 15 coins while avoiding any Snowmen in his path. If Donkey Kong drives into a Snowman, he loses at the mission.

Mario Kart 7[]

Snowmen are encountered again in DS DK Pass. Aside from this, Snowmen also appear in Sherbet Rink, being their first appearance in a battle course. Crashing into a Snowman now causes a racer to be knocked backward.

Mario Kart 8 / Mario Kart 8 Deluxe[]

The regular Snowmen are also seen in the games' remake of GCN Sherbet Land as obstacles on the sides of the track.

In the Animal Crossing course, Snowboys from the Animal Crossing series fill in for Snowmen, although a difference is that Snowboys do not knock back a racer if driven into.

In Paper Mario[]

A row of Snowmen can be found on Shiver Snowfield blocking the way to Shiver Mountain which eventually leads to the Crystal Palace. Almost all of the Snowmen are seen wearing a hat and scarf except for two: one that needs a hat and another that needs a scarf. Mario must obtain the scarf from Merle of Starborn Valley and the bucket to serve as the hat from Mayor Penguin of Shiver City. After giving the two Snowmen the needed items, all of the Snowmen are pleased by Mario's generosity and gladly unblock the path to Shiver Mountain.

In Super Princess Peach[]

Snowmen only appear in the snow-themed world Gleam Glacier, and they first appear in the level 6-1. Snowmen only act as harmless obstacles, and Peach can destroy one by either hitting it with Perry or from the fire from her Rage vibe. A Snowman usually drops coins upon being defeated.
