Queen Bean is the primary monarch of the Beanbean Kingdom. She is painfully protective of her territory to the point of which she will defend it herself from attackers. Her son is Prince Peasley, who is presumably the successor to the Beanbean throne. She is able to keep calm even during times of crisis and still maintain control of her kingdom.

History

When Cackletta and Fawful invaded the Beanbean Castle in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, they forced Queen Bean a Belly Blech Worm, which caused her to gain enormous strength but lower intelligence. This caused her to go on a rampage, wrecking the town and attacking the Mario Bros. in the process. Mario and Luigi were forced to battle her to calm her down, then Lady Lima said that in order to entirely cure her was to find the Legendary Chuckcola Reserve. After fighting Popple and getting it back, Queen Bean was back to normal and regularly advised Mario and Luigi on her quest.

Battle

Queen Bean has several attacks, her first attack involves her slamming her fists into the ground to do damage. This can be dodged by jumping over. If one of her hands is disabled, the shockwave will be weaker. She may also try to thwack one bro on their head. This can be countered with the Hammer. You can't jump on Queen Bean at this point of the battle as the Crown on her head is basically a spike so you'll need to disable both her arms to knock her Crown off temporarily. When both arms are disabled, she will spit Beans at the bros, if jumped on they will become Beanies. If you have the advanced version of Splash Bros. at this point (due to the fact that it can jump on enemies with spikes), you can use it to attack Queen Bean's head without having removed her arms in the first place.

Trivia

  • Even though she doesn't appear in Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, she is mentioned several times by the Beanish folk that vacation there.
  • A running gag in the game is that whenever she is about to speak at times, she will leap up and land on the ground causing everyone around her to leap up as well.
  • She is the first confirmed queen seen in the entire Mario series.
