Paper Mario series[]

Power works the same for the majority of this series. In Paper Mario, Mario's base power starts at 1. However, once he gets the Lucky Star and is able to use the Action command, he will be able to deal 2 points of damage per turn. Mario's partners are rather different when it comes to starting attack. For example, Goombario starts off at 1 but Sushie starts off at 3 attack. There are a number of ways to raise attack. The most known was is the Super Boots, Ultra Boots, Super Hammer, and Ultra Hammer for Mario that permanently raises his attack for his jump and hammer. Mario's partners can get stronger by leveling them up with either Super Blocks or Shine Sprites to not only give them more attack but more moves as well. This applies to the first two Paper Mario games but changes a bit in Super Paper Mario. Mario and the others can still level up but attack is one of two things that is automatically risen with the other being HP.
