Mystic Match 'Em is a story mini-game in Mario Party 4. It can be played only by two players and is required to beat Boo's Haunted Bash in Story Mode.
Gameplay[]
Both characters start with three cards, each depicting a different musical instrument. (Four instruments appear --a flute, a piano, a trumpet, and a violin.) The object is to get three cards that all depict the same instrument. Taking turns, the characters first have to discard one card, which remains on the table face-up, then take one of the remaining face-down cards. If the player --or Boo-- turns over one of the three Boo cards (known as "Miss" cards) on the table, they lose all their matches, every card on the table (and in the player --or Boo's-- hand are reshuffled), and they get three new cards.
If the player has not yet gotten a "Miss" card, there are three "Miss" cards. Boo (host of Boo's Haunted Bash), he can only "miss" three times. After he misses three times, all the Boo cards (the "Miss" cards) disappear and don't respawn for the rest of the minigame. And thus, he (Boo) can't "miss" again.
Whoever matches all three of their cards to the same instrument first is the winner.
