The Mecha Fly Guy in the Mushroom Shop in Mario Party

The Mecha Fly Guy is sold in the Mushroom Shop for one-hundred coins. After being purchased, the Mecha Fly Guy is sent to the Mini-Game House. There, whenever the Mecha Fly Guy is selected, the player plays a game where they have to rotate the Control Stick as many times as possible for ten seconds. Following this, the Mecha Fly Guy flies around the room until it falls onto the floor. The Mecha Fly Guy then says how long its flight was, how many times the Control Stick was rotated, and comments on how the player performed.

Mario Party 2[]

Mecha Fly Guys only appear in the minigame Mecha-Marathon, and the color of each Mecha Fly Guy varies depending on the character. The object for each character in the minigame is to wind up their Mecha Fly Guy until the timer ends, after which each character releases their Mecha Fly Guy. The more the Mecha Fly Guy has been wound up at the start, the farther it travel, and whoever had their Mecha Fly Guy travel the farthest is the winner.

Mario Party 3[]

A Mecha Fly Guy makes a cameo in the minigame Messy Memory, as one of toys the player must memorize its location of on the shelf.

Mario Party 4[]

A Mecha Fly Guy appears in the Shy Guy's Jungle Jam board minigame How High, Fly Guy?. Here, the player must wind up a Mecha Fly Guy as high as possible, earning coins for the highest height.

Mario Party 5[]

Here, they are simply named Fly Guys, one of which is the host of the Duel Minigames. More of the Fly Guys can be seen in the background of some of the minigames, including Blown Away, Bound of Music, Merry Poppings, and Sky Survivor. Fly Guys themselves are featured in the minigame Rumble Fumble, where three of them have to be collected to win. In Mini-Game Battle, a pair of Fly Guys fly up to show the scoreboard after each minigame.

Mario Party 6[]

Mecha Fly Guys, once again referred to as simply Fly Guys, appear in the Duel minigame Pitifall, where they pick only one of the two characters if both do not successfully land onto the platform. In such a circumstance, whoever is picked up by the Fly Guys is the winner.

Mario Party: The Top 100[]

Mecha Fly Guy is featured as a board item, and it can be used to steal an opponent's item. Mecha Fly Guys also return in the Mecha-Marathon minigame, retaining their role from the original Mario Party 2 variation, but the only difference is that Mecha Fly Guys are now color-coded by player number: the first player's character uses a red Mecha Fly Guy; the second one uses a blue Mecha Fly Guy; the third one uses a green Mecha Fly Guy; and the fourth player's character uses a yellow Mecha Fly Guy.

Mario Party Superstars[]

Mecha Fly Guys reappear in the Mecha Marathon minigame, behaving identically as in the minigame's Mario Party: The Top 100 iteration. However, they are now referred to as mechanical Fly Guys. In Messy Memory, the Mecha Fly Guy toy retains its cameo from the original Mario Party 3 iteration.
