Mario Party

Lunar-tics is a Duel Minigame in Mario Party 6.

Layout[]

The minigame takes place on a barren gray planet with two landing pads.

Opening[]

Before the game starts, the characters jump with their jetpacks from a rocket.

Gameplay[]

It involves the characters descending to the moon in the time closest to ten seconds since the start. The characters must use their jetpack to slow their descent. Whoever lands with the time closest to ten seconds from the start (that is, closest to 0 on the timer, since the timer starts at 10 seconds) wins. For example, Mario wins if he landed 10.07 seconds and the other player landed 7 seconds after the start of the game.

Ending[]

The winner celebrates as the loser tumbles through space.

In-game description[]

The basic rules read: "Fire your jet-pack thrusters to control your falling speed. Whoever lands closest to 0 seconds wins!" Players who see the advice for this minigame will see this text: "Gravity will continue to pull you down even while you use your thrusters. Keep an eye on the clock while you descend!"

Controls[]

  • A button: Hover

Trivia[]

  • This minigame's name comes from the term "lunatic," which refers to an insane person.
  • If the player keeps firing their jet-pack's thrusters for 6.49 seconds total, they can land exactly at 10 seconds since the game started (that is, when the timer reads 0).
