Mario & Luigi
Not to be confused with Goomba, named "Kuribō" in Japanese.

Kuribo is a Sockop character who appears in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story and its remake Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey.

Profile[]

Physical description[]

Kuribo has the same appearance as a Sockop. He is both fought and named this during battle.

Personality[]

Kuribo is shown to be greedy, as shown that he wants to "chug" Mario and the Attack Piece Block he has.

In Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story[]

Like the other Sockops, Kuribo lives in Dimble Wood. His distinction from regular Sockops is only showing during regular dialogue. In one part, he and two other Sockops are seen arguing over who gets to chug Mario. One of the Sockops names Kuribo a "hog" because it wants to chug both Mario and Luigi even after doing so for an Attack Piece Block. After Mario manages to rescue Luigi, Kuribo and the other Sockops team up to battle the duo.

Behind the scenes[]

Etymology[]

Kuribo has the same Japanese name as a Goomba. Because Kuribo is a Sockop, its name specifically references the Goomba's Shoe, named "Kuribo's Shoe" in Super Mario Bros. 3. This reference was not present in the original Japanese version.

Trivia[]

  • His name is also a reference of how Luigi is shown to walk on thorns while inside the shrunken-down Boss Sockop.
