Kent C. Koopa is a large Koopa Troopa who wears a Red Shell and an optional boss in Paper Mario.

In Paper Mario[]

Kent makes an appearance after the completion of Chapter 5. He is found blocking the way to Pleasant Path, which isand is a necessary to get to Koopa Village, the former hometown of Kent C. Koopa. Mario has to either pay 100 coins to pass or defeat him in battle to be able to access the village or Toad Town, as Kent charges characters coming from either direction. After the completion of chapter 7, Kolorado, who stays in Toad Town because of Kent C. Koopa, makes his way to Koopa Village, and is assumed to have summed up the 100 coins to pay the toll.

Battle[]

Kent is one of the most difficult bosses in the game. He has an astonishing seventy HP and one of the highest Defense values out of any other foe fought. He has a small weakness of getting flipped onto his shell like a regular Koopa, but it takes multiple hits to his tail for that to happen. The battle with Kent is a long, tedious, and an annoying one, but is completely optional.

Strategy[]

Even with his high stats, Kent C. Koopa has a major weakness that will make the battle with him extremely easy: Sleep. That means using either the Lullaby move, a Sleepy Sheep, or the Sleep Stomp every turn keeps Kent asleep for the remainder of the battle. Having Watt at full power is also extremely helpful, as her move can pierce defenses.
