|First Game||Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga (2003)|
|Appearances||Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga|
He is known for talking improper English constantly, especially when it is an s which becomes a th. When the Beanstar broke into four pieces, Hermie III found one and placed it at the top of his shell and soon enough, his minions were helping by decorating his shell. When Mario and Luigi came, the minions paid more attention to them, making Hermie III furious, refusing to hand them his piece of his Beanstar he found.
Hermie III can also been seen during the ending sequence where is waving to the plane as Mario and Luigi head back to the Mushroom Kingdom.
When the bros. battle Hermie III, they must watch out for him pinching them and they can avoid the attack by jumping. Hermie III also spits out pink bubbles at Mario and Luigi on which they must also avoid by using their hammers or else they become poisoned. After the Mario Bros. hit Hermie III for a while, he starts ducking in his shell and heals himself. Mario and Luigi must stop him from doing so with a fire attack. When successfully hit, Hermie III complains about how Mario and Luigi are ruining his decorations.
After a long battle with Hermie III, he gives Mario and Luigi his piece of the Beanstar after Mario and Luigi tell him all about the situation. He also gives them the Soulful Bros. badge. In return, Mario and Luigi put a Spangle on Hermie III's shell.
- Hermie III is very similar to other bosses from the Mario RPG series: Bowser from Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, Cortez from Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, and Francis from Super Paper Mario. All of them are bosses that are fought that don't die after battle but instead become friends/allies.
- Hermie III is the only boss in Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga who can be easily defeated just with the use of Mario's Firebrand (which burns his shell) and Luigi's Thunderhand (which electric is his weakness).
- Due to the Christmas decorations on his shell and the appearance of Mario (wearing red and being a little chubby), Hermie III thought that Mario was Santa Claus.
