Hawkmouth is an enemy who appears in Super Mario Bros. 2. This foe seems to be a giant hawk's head.
Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic
Hawkmouth doesn't appear in Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic. Instead, it is a giant African mask who still serves the same purpose as in Super Mario Bros. 2.
Super Mario Bros. 2
Hawkmouth is a foe and an ally at the same time, as it teleports the player to the next level. In order for the Hawkmouth's mouth to open, the player must grab the crystal ball. Once it's mouth opens, it leads the player to the next level. When the player enters or walks away from the mouth, the mouth closes.
All Hawkmouths are harmless, except for the one in World 7-2. When the crystal ball is picked up, it detaches itself from the wall and chases the player. It injures the player if it touches him/her. In order for the player to stun Hawkmouth, he/she must grab and throw a Mushroom Block at it. This foe must be hit three times, until it stops and teleports the player to Wart's room.
In Super Mario Advance, comments including "Bravo!" or "Oh, Yeah!" is said after Hawkmouth is entered.
