Plumber's Lament

When Mario and Mallow first arrive at Garro's studio, they notice what appears to be a statue of Mallow. Garro explains that the statue is actually of King Nimbus when he was a boy. Because he resembles his real father, Mallow realizes himself to be the rightful heir to the Nimbus Land throne and that Dodo, whom others believed to be Princess Mallow, is an impostor.

Garro decides to help Mario infiltrate Nimbus Castle by layering him in gold, disguising him as one of his statues. The sculptor grabs a couple of gold Valentina statues (along with a gold Mario) and brings them to the castle. However, Valentina's Birdy guards stop Garro, as only statues of Valentina are allowed in the castle. Quickly thinking, Garro tells the guards that the statue is of Valentina's nephew, Mariotta, and the guards let him pass.

When Garro enters Nimbus Castle, he encounters Valentina, who balks at his statue, who is actually Mario in disguise. Garro argues that the sculpture, which he names A Plumber's Lament, has significant meaning because it symbolizes the struggle of the working class. Valentina quickly changes her previous evaluation and praises Garro for the statue. With Mario in position, Garro returns to his studio, waiting for Mario to end Valentina's reign.

Garro is last seen during the ending sequence, at the very back of the crowd celebrating Mallow's return. Unlike the other crowd members, Garro did not leap joyously and even decided to leave before the ceremony ended.
