"I'm too hot to touch!!"
—Fry Guy, Super Mario Advance

Fryguy is a fiery boss who debuts in Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic and later its overseas Mario conversion, Super Mario Bros. 2. In some media, Fryguys have been shown to be a species.

Profile[]

Physical Description[]

Fryguy is a big fireball with white eyes. He has a black mask around his eyes. His original sprite depicts him as with a red rim and line-like eyes that slope downwards going in, while his sprite in the Super Mario Advance makes his rim orange and depicts his eyes as oval-shaped. His "damaged" sprite makes his eyes big and white with small black dots for pupils.

After his big form is destroyed, Fryguy splits into four Small Fry Guys. These smaller Fryguys have a similar appearance to his, but are smaller, hence their name. They also have black beady eyes.

In Super Mario Bros. 2/Super Mario Advance[]

Feyguy is the boss of World 4, despite the location being ice-themed, and he is encountered at the end of World 4-3. Fryguy is a type of fiery monster created by Wart. He attacks by spitting out fireballs, and his body can deal damage due to his fiery composition. To attack Fryguy, Mario, Luigi, Princess Toadstool, or Toad have to throw Mushroom Blocks at him. After three hits, Fryguy breaks down into four Small Fry Guys, who can each be destroyed by throwing a Mushroom Block at them once. Once every Small Fry Guy has been defeated, Fryguy is defeated and the player can move onto World 5.

In Super Mario Advance, just before his battle, Fryguy is created from some bubbles rising up to a mask. He then says, "I'm too hot to touch!"

In The Super Mario Bros. Super Show[]

Fryguy later makes appearances in The Super Mario Bros. Super Show, which shows him serving King Koopa as part of the Koopa Troop. In this series, Fryguy is able to spit fire from his mouth, such as in "Hooded Robin and His Mario Men," where he melted the coins into hot, golden slime after nearly getting duped.

In the Nintendo Comics System[]

Fryguy High Yearbook -- Activity Page![]

They are the main subject of a one-page strip named Fryguy High Yearbook -- Activity Page!. It shows various events involving Fryguy high school students at their school, aptly named Fryguy High. The first panel shows that the Fryguys' baseball team were shown to have made 16 consecutive no-hitters, suggested to have been because they melted the opposing team's baseball bat. The second panel shows that a Fryguy was used by the Koopalings as the fire for their campfire to roast sausages. The third panel shows that the Fryguys destroyed Kaboomka Fireworks Factory during a field trip, likely from accidentally igniting a firecracker's fuse. The fourth one shows a few Fryguys sitting outside the principal's office for smoking in the boys' room, having ruined it for most of them. The fifth and final panel shows that Fryguy High eventually burned down, with construction being indefinitely delayed.

Duh Stoopid Bomb![]

In Duh Stoopid Bomb!, one of Bowser's inventions makes a Snifit a genius. The Snifit takes over the fortress and drops Bowser into the Fryguy Kindergarten, another instance of Fry Guys being in a school.
