The Frog Suit is a power-up item introduced in Super Mario Bros. 3.

Description[]

Collecting a Frog Suit turns Mario or Luigi into their Frog form, in which they wear the Frog Suit itself. The suit is green, has the appearance of a frog, and eyes bulging out of the top.

Similarly, the Blue Shell and Penguin Suit from later Super Mario installments give Mario better swimming control, while the Spring Mushroom from the Super Mario Galaxy sub-series also has the ability of allowing Mario to jump higher.

In Super Mario Bros. 3[]

The Frog Suit is first used in Desert Land. This power up allows Mario or Luigi to more easily control and speed up his swimming, although at the cost of decreased speed while on land. The height that Mario or Luigi achieve by jumping has been increased noticeably. Collecting a Frog Suit in a level earns the player 1,000 points. The Frog Suit is also one of the items obtainable from a Mushroom House and within certain giant ? Blocks.

In the Paper Mario series[]

Frog Suits return as stickers in Paper Mario: Sticker Star and then again in Paper Mario: Color Splash as cards. With it, Mario can dodge enemies' attacks and boost the power of his other stickers/cards as well. There is also a Shiny Frog Suit in Sticker Star. These only have an increased effect of the ability. Unlike most other stickers in Paper Mario: Sticker Star, the Frog Suit only has two variations: normal and shiny.

In Super Mario Maker 2[]

The Frog Suit makes a reappearance. It now grants Frog Mario the ability to run on water while the P-Meter is filled up.
