Subspecies Dark Dark Boo

Dark Boos are a subspecies of Boo that have purple skin and yellow eyes. They are found in the games Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Super Paper Mario, and Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time. They are stronger versions of Boos in both The Thousand-Year Door and Partners in Time, but have a completely different AI from regular Boos in Super Paper Mario. In Super Paper Mario, there is a stronger darker version called Dark Dark Boo. Apart from defeating enemies by knocking, it also has an ability to steal one of their items. As soon as the enemies are attacked by a Dark Boo, their items will be completely taken away.


Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door

Dark Boos in this game can be encountered in the Poshley Sanctum in the painting. There are numerous of Dark Boos in this area where they seem to be guarding the seventh Crystal Star. Dark Boos can also be encountered in the Pit of 100 Trials on the lower floors of the area.

Super Paper Mario

In this game, Dark Boos are now found on Underwhere Road where they are found in numerous of rooms. They often move around by flipping in and out of dimensions and attacking once they get close. They are rather bothersome enemies that are best left to be ignored. There are darker versions of these enemies called Dark Dark Boos found in the Flopside Pit of 100 Trials.
