Luigi's Mansion

Crows are a real-world animal which appear in some Mario games, most commonly the Luigi's Mansion series. They first appear in Luigi's Mansion for Nintendo GameCube.

Profile[]

Physical description[]

In Luigi's Mansion and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Crows are black-feathered like real-world crows, they are tall and stocky, and they have eyes on each side of their head. In Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, Crows are instead purple-feathered, and they are quite short and lean and have eyes on the front of their head.

In Luigi's Mansion series[]

Luigi's Mansion[]

Crows make a cameo during the opening cutscene, as Luigi travels through Boo Woods on his way to the mansion.

Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon[]

Crows are one of the non-ghost enemies, and most of them are encountered in Haunted Towers. A Crow can damage Luigi upon contact, but he can instantly vacuum it into his Poltergust 5000 or flash the Strobulb to defeat a Crow, causing it to drop a bill or some hearts. Crows also received their own variant, Gold Crows.

Luigi's Mansion 3[]

Both Crows and Gold Crows return as enemies from Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, retaining their behavior. Both types also utilize a swooping attack similar to Crowbers from the New Super Mario Bros. sub-series.

In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door[]

Crows appear on various trees in Twilight Town. At first, if Mario talks to a crow, it just caws, but if Mario uses Vivian and hides under a tree, they say other things. According to Vivian, the Crows only pretend to be ignorant when humans are around. Crows have the ability to talk about a variety of subjects, and a few even provide tips.
