Coin Bandit

The Coin Bandit is an enemy and a variant of a Bandit which appears in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. They are pink bandits that always carry a Red Coin.

In Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island[]

Unlike regular Bandits, if a Coin Bandit notices Yoshi, it tries to run away, presumably to try and prevent him from acquiring the Red Coin. If Yoshi grabs the Red Coin without the Coin Bandit running away, it begins acting like a regular Bandit and chases Yoshi, attempting to snatch Baby Mario from him and run away. Like regular Bandits, a Coin Bandit can be defeated either from jumping on it three times or by Ground Pounding it.
