"Lets do the Crime Warp again!"
Bowser

Bowser's Warped Orbit is a board in Mario Party 8. This board is hosted by Bowser. It is centered around a giant battle station in space. The board is unlocked by completing Star Battle Arena with any character.

Story[]

In the Star Battle Arena version of this stage, the player is about to receive the Star Rod when Bowser shows up. Then he (Bowser) takes it. The player jumps onto the Star Platform and heads to space, where you duel battle against one of the two unlockable characters. The opponent character is either Hammer Bro or Blooper. The opponent is random, unless the player completes Star Battle Arena with the first unlockable character. If they do, the second unlockable character is forcibly the opponent. If the player completes Star Battle Arena with any character, they unlock the first unlockable character (which becomes revealed on this stage). After they complete Star Battle Arena, the player now has gotten the first unlockable character. However, in order to get the second unlockable character, the player must complete Star Battle Arena with the first one.

If the player wins the duel, Bowser returns the Star Rod and declare that he's the "Superstar". He then challenges the player to a battle in deep space in the mini-game Superstar Showdown. If the player beats the game, they will become the "Superstar". Bowser's Warped Orbit then becomes playable in the Party Tent, and the boss the player fought becomes unlocked.

Star Battle Arena[]

In Star Battle Arena, this board is the sixth and final stage. In the Star Battle Arena version, both the player and the opponent start with three stars. The player or the opponent wins by using candy to reduce the other's stars to zero stars.

The player and the opponent need two different types of candy (Bullet and Bowser Candy). Both of these candies (Bullet and Bowser Candy) are unique to only this board.

Description[]

Bowser's Warped Orbit is a very unique board, it is one of the very few boards with a two-way path. This board is similar to Snowflake Lake (from Mario Party 6) and Pyramid Park (from Mario Party 7). There are no stars in this board. (However, DK Spaces are the only way where new stars can be added.) Since there are no stars, players instead start with 5 stars (or 10 in Tag Battle). (That is, if not counting handicaps.)

If the player lands on the Green Spaces, Bowser says, "Let's get ready for a reversal, you crooks! Let's do the Crime Warp again!". Then Bowser uses the gear shift (on the observation tower), pulls the lever, and switches the direction of the board. To get stars, player(s) steal stars from opponents (or their opposed team in Tag Battle) using Bullet or Bowser Candy. Both of these candies (Bullet Candy and Bowser Candy) are hidden on only this board. The Bullet Candy lets you roll 3 Dice Blocks (for 3-30 spaces) and the player can steal 1 star. The Bowser Candy lets you roll 2 Dice Blocks (2-20 spaces) and the player can steal 2 stars.

Special Spaces[]

  • A ? Space next to Kamek has him mix up all the player's candy. A ? space next to a tube sends you to the other side of the board (by collecting 20 coins along the way). (In the Star Battle Arena version of this stage, the tube --for sending the player or the opponent to the other side of the board-- has nothing. That is, unlike in the Party Tent version. That is because the tube --in the Star Battle Arena version-- is part of the board's path and not a shortcut.) One ? space has Bowser come onto the board and he chases the player around the board until it reaches a space. Any player in the way gets involved in the chase. Other ? spaces has Bowser reverse the board's direction.
  • If the player lands on a DK Space, Donkey Kong appears on a satellite and he gives the player a free star. If the player lands on a Bowser Space, Bowser comes down from his observation tower and steals a star.
    • In Party Tent, there is a fixed and limited number of stars to steal (if not counting handicaps). There are 20 (gifted by Bowser). (In the Battle Royale version, all four players begin with 5 stars. But in the Tag Battle version, both teams begin with 10.) However, there is a 21st star. This star can be received by Donkey Kong. (That is, whoever lands on the DK Space.) If the player lands on a Bowser Space, Bowser steals it. Then the star is taken completely out of play. And this reduces the stars back to 20. (So unique to this board, new stars --in the case of a DK Space-- can be added or they --in the case of a Bowser Space-- can be taken away.)
    • In Star Battle Arena, if the player reduces their opponent's stars to zero stars --via the Bullet and/or Bowser Candy (both of them which are exclusive to this board)-- they can get six stars (as both the player and the opponent start with three stars). The player or the opponent wins by reducing the other's stars to zero stars and can get a total of six stars. For the DK/Bowser Spaces, Donkey Kong (via the DK Space) gives the player a free piece of candy and Bowser (via the Bowser Space) removes one star. So if the star is removed by Bowser, the star is gone for the rest of the stage. And this results in less stars (five instead of six).
  • The Lucky Space has an alien Shy Guy (called Captain Shy Guy). And he appears and takes the player to an outer space buffet restaurant (called "Shy Guy's Orbital Buffet"). The lucky area (unlike the other boards with a Lucky Space) does not lead to a free star. Instead, the player is taken to a path of Blue Spaces --each with three coins-- and --by passing Candy Spaces-- they get to collect three free pieces of candy (which turn out to be Bullet and/or Bowser Candy). And the player's inventory gets filled with Bullet and/or Bowser Candy.
