Mario Party

Bowl Over is a 1 vs. 3 mini-game found in Mario Party and later returning in Mario Party 2. Bowl Over is based on a game of bowling, as its name suggests.

Gameplay[]

Three players take the form of bowling pins in a set of seven and have to avoid being bowled over by a Green Shell, which the first player will throw and control through one of three variations of an alleyway. This can either be an alleyway that curves slightly to the right, slightly to the left, or zigzags in the form of curves. If the single player knocks over a normal pin, they'll get a coin, but five coins from the player they knock down. If the player's shell touches the sides or reaches the end of the lane, the game ends. The one player will do a disappointed pose if they didn't get any coins, but will otherwise do a winning pose if they got any coins.

In Mario Party 2, there are some changes to the mini-game; this time the single player has to knock all of the other players to win, and the player has a chance to throw a second shell. Also, this variation has no side barriers, but they still lose the shell, because the variation is instead on top of a cliff that looks like the original alleyways. Just like in the first Mario Party, if the player knocks over a normal pin, they get a coin. However, they don't get five from an opponent they knock down. Instead, they knock them all down to win ten coins.
