Big Bad Bugaboom is the third Power Star mission of Honeyhive Galaxy in Super Mario Galaxy. Here, the galaxy has been infested by Mandibugs, and there is a boss fight against Bugaboom at the end.

The only two planets that are accessible are the Starting Planet and the one with Bugaboom.

Objective[]
Upon reaching the starting planet, Mario or Luigi must progress their way forward, avoiding any Mandibugs, Boulders, Slurples, and Piranha Plants they come across. After making his way down the waterfall, Mario or Luigi have to make their way through the tunnel to meet Queen Bee. When she is helped out, Queen Bee summons a Launch Star that leads to the Mandibug Planet, where Mario has to fight Bugaboom. To defeat Bugaboom, Mario or Luigi has to Ground Pound on the monster's back three times, earning him a Power Star after the last strike.

- Before the Bugaboom begins his boss fight, fight, a fast-paced version of the Honeyhive Galaxy's theme plays.
- During the first phase of the Bugaboom's battle, King Kaliente's theme plays.
- The Bugaboom's own theme plays starting from the second phase. This song is a higher-pitched, slightly faster remix of King Kaliente's theme.
